Do you have a website for your business or maintain a network in your office?

Can your site be broken or hacked? How often do you or your hosting service provider try to hack in to or break your own website?

Can it be done today? Suppose it seems that it can’t be today. How about at some point in the future? Will some software update create a vulnerability?

As I branch off into Cyber Security, I am starting small and inexpensive. I am offering Security Subscriptions to website operators and small offices with networks. If you are selling products or services, taking online payments, or any other kind of personal information that needs to be protected, you should have your website and network tested for vulnerabilities on a regular basis.

Over the course of the subscription term, I will periodically scan your site or network for vulnerabilities; see how I can break your website or penetrate your network. If I can, I will provide a detailed report and work with you to resolve the issue. If not, I will always inform you that I was there and did not find vulnerabilities at that time.

I’ll start by going through every link, page, form, etc. on your site. Wherever there may be a hacker target; a possible back door into your data; a way to capture passwords, credit card numbers, etc. I will continue to poke and prod your site over the course the subscription.

Experience:

Prior to my current career, I worked for 14 years as a Computer Systems Analyst. I spent much of the time as an independent consultant serving the corporate users of the HP-3000 system, working primarily for mail-order companies (Barnes & Noble, QVC, Rodale) and other financial, medical, and technical (NorTel, CDI) services. As the old systems faded away and the WWW came along, I learned web programming (HTML, JavaScript, PHP, ColdFusion).  My interests grew in other directions and I became interested in International Business and world affairs. I majored in International Relations and learned about terrorism. Although I spent a lot of my time teaching other subjects, I kept my hands on security and technology. I served as both the IT and Engineering Design Course Coordinator for the United States Pathway Program and taught AP Computer Science.
