Prior to becoming a teacher, I was a Programmer/Analyst for 14 years. Yes, COBOL is very different than Python, but I was still a programmer and analyst. I also used tools such a SUPRTOOL on the HP-3000 for data extraction and manipulation. I later learned ColdFusion and SQL. I now work with Python.
